Jewish Medical Ethics & Israel Experience
June 30 - July 24, 2014

The New England Institute of Jewish Studies, in coordination with the Schlesinger Institute and Shaare Tzedek Medical Center, Jerusalem, is sponsoring a four week summer program, combining the study of medical ethics, Jewish thought and tours of Israel. The purpose of the program is to enable Jewish medical students to explore Jewish approaches to challenging medical issues confronting health care professionals. Compelling seminars on Jewish thought address contemporary issues facing the Jewish people. The program features many tours and hikes in Israel.

"The program has made a profound impact on my religious, spiritual, ethical, and professional life that I will never forget. The physicians, rabbis and tour group leaders were all remarkable people with a message I had sought out for quite some time but only recently found, and that was the importance of maintaining a religious, spiritual, ethical, and professional life simultaneously, where each of these characteristics are being considered continuously as equals, and not dropped handily."
